about

Nevenka was formed in 1976 by a group of women who shared a common interest in Balkan music and dance. Nevenka is a popular woman's name throughout Eastern Europe. It comes from the word neven, or marigold flower. It's also the given name of Nena Šokčić, a singer and friend who has inspired and guided us. It is to her that this recording is dedicated.
